Well what I think is sad is if you look at all those amazing maps for the PCM contest. They're all so beautiful and most of the builders do not share their building skills to make maps for our community but for the contest. That is what I think is sad. :(

It may be because a lot of them are from PMC and have never heard of MCSG before. I think they saw an opportunity to show off their building skills, and also entered to try to win a prize.

The reason for this is that Planet Minecraft is a place to show off your architectural miracles and show everybody just what you can do. The best of the best post their builds there, and if they get a chance to enter a competition, they seize it. They most likely have never even heard of MCSG before, as someone who is a builder at heart wouldn't be too focused on PvP.

Like KRaidium , most dedicated, through-and-through builders aren't part of many communities other than those dedicated to building, which is why you'll see a lot more (in number) skilled builders.

MCSG has an amazing set of builders, and map-makers, so I have total faith in that ;). More are always welcome, but we do definitely have something :).

This has been said twice already, but people who build, generally don't care about the PvP side of Minecraft, they find building relaxing and fun, whereas PvP is a bit more agressive.

Like the others have said, but this may also bring in more potential map makers which I also think was a bit of the goal as well.

Being a designer of PvP maps requires you to be a decent PvP:er as you need to know what is good and bad in maps. To know that, you kind of have to PvP once in a while and study other maps, and the way the people of the specified server you are making the map for like to fight and explore maps.
