I hate when people bring their hacker complaints to the forums. No offense, but nothing is going to happen in result of you getting grumpy on this website.
However, I get your point. I know it can be frustrating.
All in all, I can assure you it is just a game and no matter how addicted any of us get to it, it really doesn't matter. Eventually we are all going to move on to other things, and this server will be but a distant memory.
My advice for now, if you run into a hacker, try your best to record them and get them banned. If not, take a deep breath and move on to the next game. As much as we like to bash the mods, we have to trust that they do a good job (which they do) and its not reasonable for every hacker to be caught.
On your point about Mojang making hack clients unusable: this won't happen. Believe it or not, hack clients are used for positive benefits in several different ways. For instance, map makers use (or should use) hack clients to count and distribute the chests on their maps. This is the only way to make sure chests are balanced on MCSG maps. There are some other ways to, all having to do with the "creative" side of MineCraft.
The only way that may happen is if Mojang develops a usable game console or a hack client of their own that only includes the hacks that are beneficial and legal in some creative cases, and leaves out all the pvp related hacks. That way theirs can be usable, but any 3rd party clients would not.
However, all that^ won't happen. Far too much gray area and not enough support would be gained. In the foreseeable future hackers will be a part of the game as they have been for MCSG's three years of existence. It is going to be something that the community is going to have to get over, and move on. This is why I don't understand why people come on here and complain about this kind of stuff because they don't understand nothing is ever going to change.
