Good day everyone!

I have been playing MCSG for around 6 months now and I am an EU player, the past few days I have been playing around on the CA servers. (At night there is not many people on the EU servers) On the EU servers, I average at around 25-35ms ping. Whereas on the CA servers, I get around 100ms ping. Perfectly fine I believe, but enough of the backstory ... I have found that I can hit the most insane combos on the CA servers, I'm talking about 6-7 hit combos, it's crazy! In contrast to EU where everyone just seems to trade even hits. Although I have a much better ping to EU than I do in CA. So here is my question ...

Is there something either in the game, or the anti-cheat that means that the better ping you have, the less hits you can get? Or something along these lines anyhow. I know that usually it's the other way around, I've read on the forums before that "in 1.8 if you have a ping of less that 50ms then you can win any fight", although I don't believe that it's the case.

To gather more evidence of this, I request for any EU player who gets a ping below 50ms, to try out the CA servers, and reply what you think on this thread. Do you agree with what I have said? Or not? I am really interested to know whether it's just me that experiences it, and I would greatly appreciate anyone who would take part!

Have a great day!

1.8 pvp is about getting the first hit. You are probably misplaced it a way that gives you an advantage. Imagine registering hits in one place and inflicting them in another. That could actually prove to be an advantage!

A lot of the time, especially since the release of 1.8, the influence of ping has become somewhat counter-intuitive. I believe that pings from around 20ms-100ms are pretty much the same, obviously with sub 20ms, it becomes a real advantage. However at the other end of the spectrum, higher delays can actually lead to advantages in PvP. I found this whilst playing on the US Clan Wars server, where I get ~175ms. Hits can often register at delayed times when on your screen you are actually further than hitting distance from your opponent, and a lot of the time this enables you to pull off some pretty sweet combos. Some of my US friends experience the same thing when coming onto EU. It's certainly not a discriminatory anti-cheat towards different pings. Hope I helped :p

If you get low ping like 30-35ms, I may get combos more easily
But if you get higher pings, I mayn't get lots of combos.
I did not understand how did you get 7 combos with a high ping.

It's because ping doesn't matter as much as you think it does. I have a similar situation to yours, but it's the opposite way. I get about 30ms to CA, and 100-110 to EU. I don't notice a significant change in the hits I'm getting because your connection doesn't make that drastic of a difference. Of course unless it's over 200, then you're gonna have a bad time xD
