Almost everyone uses it.. at least for water fights.

Only good players really use it for pvp. You know the person you are facing is at least decent if they are using the rod against you.

I never got used to it so I don't really use it. Personally I think it wrecks pvp now. Bow and sword is good enough for me.

Lots of people "use" a fishing rod, but many don't really use it in a manner that is actually useful. Often,
when I am running from someone, the person will spam fishing rod at me - even if he does manage to
hit me, it doesn't mess up my sprint (thanks 1.7) and even gives me a boost. IMO, fishing rod is most
useful when you are running up to someone and immediately rod him, then melee him - the slight knockback
allows you to hit him, but momentarily prevents him from hitting you.

I usually use FnS to initiate a fight though, not fishing rod.

Then you obviously don't know many people.

I'm assuming around 80% of players use it. Around half are experienced with it and the other half use it because they think it will make them better, when they barely know how to hit with a sword.

did you even read what i said? im just goig to Clarify it for you anyway, just incase you dont uderstand wht i was trying to get across. I was trying to say no one uses it well, i know that alot of people use the rod, i my self use the rod quie often but i belive i do use it quite well
