I don't find it worth my time to try to be good at it, and even if I did I'd still probably suck at it...

If you don't use one while fighting players who know how to use one, you are just completely screwed.

Not true if you're good at strafing. Even good players will have trouble hitting you and using the fishing rod can actually make them get less hits than you. I rarely ever use it in 1v1 situations and never really have any problems with sword fights because of that.

This leaves you approximately 43,000 out of 2,700,000. Final calculations leave you at approximately 3%. Remember this is not COMPLETELY accurate, as some people (rarely, however) with less than eighty wins use rod pvp.

All the real pros' routes are just huts near the water. All you need is fish.
