This isnt really fair.

As tacoface said in a thread created RIGHT before this one,
" If it is a hardware macro, such as the ones on a mouse or keyboard, then yes. If it is any mod which allows you to set macros, the answer is no.
Question answered, thread locked."

Im also unclear on this. If people use macros to set switching items to their hotbar on their mouse & keyboard, only certain people can use this, so its unfair. If they are allowed to use that, why can I not use a macros mod so I can switch to items faster, without having to click the "1" key.

Its only possible to do on a mouse, and its just a button on it that acts the same as the button its assigned to. so they basically only lower the distance they have to travel with their fingers to switch from your hotbar, you are free to buy a similair mouse yourself to use this.

There are keyboards that allow you to set macros as well...

Thats the point, I cant buy it.

Its not fair, me who has a crappy mouse vs some guy who has a great mouse will always win because he can switch to his sword or bow faster. Im just saying it shouldnt be allowed if we all dont have access to it, as it gives users an advantage.

So they'll still have to press that button to get the same effect as the assigned button? You are free to use whatever hardware you want

It's not detectable

Dont double post please.

Still, If its not available to everyone then it shouldnt be allowed.
So just because people paid more for better equipment that gives an advantage, they aren't allowed to use it?
Even if this gives an advantage you just can't make it illegal to use, as it would be unfair to the people who bought it.

2. No Hacked or Modded clients are allowed EVER: Mods that give unfair advantages are not allowed.

  • Any suspicion of using a client can earn a temp ban or a permanent ban depending on the situation. Even discussing hacked clients on our servers is worthy of a tempban.
  • Anything outside of a vanilla client that provides an unfair advantage (x-ray, minimap, radars, force fields, speedhacking, better sprint mod, ect.) is considered a modded or hacked client!
  • A detailed list of the mods we do not allow will be provided.
  • If you use mods to increase your FPS or textures like the watermod, it's OK! We just don't like the ones where you modify your character's performance.
  • If you are caught or the administration has suspicion of you using hacks, your ranking and leaderboard scores are subject to be reset to the defaults.
  • Admitting to using a modded/hacked client, even jokingly, will result in a ban
  • Using the macros mod to bind your sprint so you do not have to double press “w” to sprint is not allowed.
  • If you are unsure if a certain mod is allowed or not, as a staff member before using it.
  • This includes modifying files in your .minecraft to give a advantage such as increasing the gamma to give effect of full bright.
  • Binding macros to give you the ability to sprint without tapping W twice is considered hacking and will be dealt as such.
Allowed Mods list:

  • Optifine
  • Shaders Mod or "GLSL Shaders"
  • Toomanyitems
  • Armorstatus
  • Directionhub
  • Multiplayer profiles mod
  • Macros Mod [only for staff since normal members can use it to break rules]
  • Camera Studio
  • Animated Players Mod
This list will update over time.

I highlighted the aspects from the MCSG rules sections. Chad made those rules for a reason.
Every player gets their own cheating way. Wether for mac users to use the caps lock button or for PC users to make their screen so bright without modifying .Minecraft folder. Some, buy a mouse as a razer naga or a corsair and get the fancy shortcuts c:

Is that a macro? I thought a macro was something that you could program into your mouse or keyboard, for example if you had a FnS macro and pressed 2 it would switch to 2 use the FnS in that slot then switch back to 1 again, that's what I though a macro was, not sure though. They're only really useful for FnS and rod I think, but you can just learn to hotkey really well, people like Huahwi can do it it really fast without using macros, I think Elgoldo could do it really fast to.

Learn to do it like gcb99 and you are sorted
