Make MCSG More Survival!

Hey Guys, SaucyCmeister here and I was thinking they should make MCSG more survival!,
They should make it harder to find food (Have animals to kill for it on some maps) Only ONE or TWO arrows per chest, Make it Harder to find weapons and Diamond/Iron.
So then MCSG won't be all about who has the best chest route! What do you think they should do?

This have been requested alot. Staff and developers are aware of this, but I'm not sure if they are going to change this any time soon, maybe in the next update ;)

These suggestions basically are MCSGv1. While I do agree with you that MCSG needs to go back to the survival style, the developers had just went through massive updates with MCSGv2 in order to keep things up to date. Those updates basically removed what you suggested. I like your idea, but the reality is that it probably will never happen.

To be honest, this makes it MORE about who has the best route. If your route isn't good enough, you get nothing and get destroyed by someone with a lot of chests. With more weapons that means more competition and makes someone who gets an iron sword less likely to auto-win.

I personally would like less food and arrows in chests. Feathers are pointless with the amount of arrows in chests, and I NEVER go hungry anymore. I liked it actually being a struggle to stay full. But now I get so much food I am throwing away cooked stake. And its a hassle to have to burn it so other ppl cant get it x3
I think the armor is good how it is. It may be nice it being a tad more scare but whatevs.
Thats just me though, I still love the games how they are now and doubt they will change it back to the old ways. Although I could see them nerfing the amount of arrows in chests.

ikr, They should make it only raw food in tier 1's, and make it rare to get cooked food!

I completely agree, right now it is all about who has the best route, and who gets the tier 2's first. It should be random chest locations and random tiers. Here are some things that need to be done to make MCSG more survival based:

Less food. Having mass amounts of food is just boring. There should be way less food. Right now there is no need for a bowl as compared to before in V1 if you had a bow, you had an unlimited source of food. But now without the bowl I find myself with an unlimited source of food. I remember before V2 I would starve to death and actually think in a strategically about how much food I ate. You would also starve to death at times. I want it to go back to where you had to kill animals for food to be able to survive or actually pick up mushroom. We should also sometimes actually have to fish for food and not just for xp. The amount of food should definitely be decreased, because at the moment it is way to easy to survive.

We need less arrows. There have already been many threads about arrows, but I'm going to post my opinions here. So, the amount of arrows is too damn high! ;) We need the amount decreased, just like food. There should only be 1 or two arrows in tier 1 chests and 4 at the most in tier 2's. At deathmatch in every game I should have no more then 20 arrows. I have had more than 2 stacks of 64 arrows in a single game before, that is just crazy. Having that many arrows is just stupid and unfair to your opponent. Almost everyone agrees that the amount of arrows is just insane and they have to lower it.

String instead of bows and fishing rods. I think that bows and fishing rods should be replaced with string in chests. Why? Because it adds more strategic decisions. For example if you only have 3 string, but you are not sure whether or not you want to craft a fishing rod or a bow. With the fishing rod you could use the fishing rod technique to beat your opponent, but with the bow you would have the long range advantage.

Diamond have to be more rare. At the moment diamonds are too common. I do not think that every game game I play that someone should have a diamond sword. It just makes it too easy. IMO every 2/5 should have a diamond sword in them. I want to see more deathmatch's with iron and stone swords.

All the things stated above will make MCSG harder, because at the moment it is way too easy, and it doesn't make it fun. Every game is the same. These ideas will also make MCSG more survival based rather than more PvP based. IMO right now these games are more "Minecraft PvP Games" and less "Minecraft Survival Games".

I agree with you on everything but making weapons and iron/diamonds more rare. MCSG is starting to get a lot less legit due to all the food.

Well the more you make stuff rare, the more it makes it about routes. That can be fixed by making random chests, but that makes luck huge and less skill will be involved. I think the system should remain more or less how it is, although slightly less food amounts. Not major, but some reduction.

I agree 100%
Before they changed the chest loot, though it was unlikely you would starve, it was possible if you weren't careful. You had to be careful when/where you used your arrows, as they were scarce. I remember getting 40 arrows was an achievement, now I've had over 2 stacks.

Just please, no mobs! I just hate them!

Mobs were, in my opinion, one of the hardest and best features of beta MCSG. It added a whole another level of difficulty. Just imagine it now with the new skeleton ai! Oh, how the deaths would be glorious!
