Okay. So, you want average people who can just about moderate to be accepted? Alright, so now time is being spent reviewing their application, giving them their interview, and teaching them about being a moderator if they are accepted. This time could have been spent with other, much more experienced applicants.
Great, we have a bunch of mods who don't really have any idea what they're doing. Now, we have to dedicate our time correcting their mistakes, and teaching them absolutely everything. Uh oh! They just wrongly banned a "popular" player for Better Sprint. People are complaining on the forums about how anybody can get mod nowadays, and how the MCGamer staff is of a very low quality. Now, time that could be spent hiring good staff has to be spent dealing with this drama.
Do you see where this is going? Instead of hiring mediocre staff, it is always best to invest the time in looking for the best staff possible. 10 brilliant moderators will beat 100 average moderators any day of the week.
