They arent try the sprint in 1.7.2!
What are you talking about? Your sprint does not stop when you hit a player while using 1.7. The update is not as bad as I expected, maybe that's just because not everyone has updated to 1.7 yet, or maybe it actually isn't as bad as I was expecting. It's a new update so obviously there is still bugs and glitches that need to be fixed, after that the game will feel more smooth. I wish the update had not have happened but we'll all just have to deal with it, I doubt Mojang will just delete 1.7. And yes, I have been playing Minecraft since Alpha, maybe even earlier.

I love the new 1.7 update , I mean I love all these new flowers , new biomes and all that stuff , but I am just a little disappointed for the sprint key , I mean..yeah now you will not sprint lag , but it gives a real big advantage in MCSG.

I've been playing it for the past couple of weeks on CA and am warming up to it. I also think it's funny how you went in to so much detail on your wins, but still put a +. "695+"

I have. It's completely superior to the double tap sprint, and even BSM.

Honestly, even the PvP situations aside...You cannot start your sprint in mid-air with double tap, but now you can with the bindable key. Only with that key. Actually, the funniest thing about this sprint stuff is that it's actually superior even to BSM. At least BSM wouldn't allow someone to start their sprint in mid-air. >.>

Anyway, more on topic:
So far, from the two games I've played in 1.7, (both of which were using some of the ridiculous Super Secret Settings shaders. xD) the game seems virtually no different aside from the sprint key. Maybe I should spend some more time with it...but I honestly haven't had any issues. Heck, when messing around last night, I won a game with Hyperspeed sensitivity, upside down view, (super secret settings) quake pro, (I normally am on default.) f5 view, and had my mouse inverted. (I normally don't.) If I can win with all these ridiculous things going on at once, I don't think anything is wrong. >.>

Every update, I hear people complain about it. A lot. So does everyone else. Rather than restating everything everyone else has said, I'll just say one thing:

If Mojang listened every time people told them they're update was terrible, (been happening like crazy since 1.8 beta.) what would Minecraft be now? It'd be a game filled only with things people demand, which aren't always the thing the game needs. Sure, horses are in this boat...but what else?

It would lack sprinting, period.
It would lack a proper lighting system.
It would lack advanced biome stuff. (And I'm not talking about 1.7. I'm talking about 1.8 Beta/1.0 here.)
It would lack stackable food.
And many, many other things that, when I went back to a beta update for a short while (For nostalgia's sack.), I realized I couldn't live without.

Honestly...just let things take their course. It's okay to state your dislike for one thing or another, but I can guarantee you nothing will change. It'd take a lot more than a few people on one thread on the MCSG forums to change it, especially when, in comparison to previous updates, this one is actually one of the least controversial I've seen so far since 1.7 Beta or 1.2.5... (The update times for plugins/mods is ridiculous though, but hey, as long as said changes help like they're supposed to in the long run of things.)

People seem to forget that theres more to minecraft than MCSG.
In my opinion 1.7.2 was a fantastic update , as far as survival goes (which is what most people play) so really it's quite selfish for people to complain about it to this extent , like for example "minecraft is going downhill".
If anything it just keeps getting better and MCSG is not keeping up with it.

When Mojang was releasing the update, they were not thinking of PvP... they were thinking of Minecraft's Basics...

I like everything but the new sprint feature.

Seriously, Mojang take ideas from other popular mods and then claim it as their own with no credit. Just saying.

Well, it also is taking ages for a lot of servers to update, but I suppose thats to be expected with the amount of features.

I haven't played any games since 1.6.4, but all I know is that I click 9.8 times a second, I'm screwed.

With the 1.7 sprint key, your sprint DOES break if you run into a block, or hit another player, unless you're holding the sprint key down (which will be pretty hard and confusing to get used to) or if you're using a Mac (binding sprint to caps lock will keep the sprint on forever unless you toggle it off again or if you run out of hunger, basically giving Mac users an advantage over others).

This is why BSM should be allowed. Also if BSM isn't allowed, it would be basically impossible to tell the difference as the person may use "holding down sprint key" or "mac" as an excuse. Yes BSM has other features such as the sneak and the walk key, but it has no effect to the gameplay and does not give an advantage to Pvp whatsoever.
