Hi! Please excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong thread, and do direct me to the right one if I am, but I just wanted to say I have minecraft on the 360. However, I really am tempted to get it for my laptop just for the sake of being able to join in this game! From your experience playing this countless times, is it definetely worth it to play this? :)

I was wondering (and I have checked about but here's to hoping someone know anywhere else) of where I can purchase a relatively cheap copy of the game (for UK)? And I've been searching but where are the rules of the actual game on here please? I've found the general rules for the site, but no in-depth rules on what you can do in-game etc. I do know of course generally what you have to do, but I just like to be certain I've got everything covered.

Sorry to leave a probably pointless noob thread. lol But I've just enthusiastic since I've followed this site. Thanks for your time peeps!

Hey :D Welcome to MCSG!

I would say it's definitely worth buying Minecraft. Along with single-player, there are loads of servers out here, but of course, MCSG is one of the best. ;)

There are numerous videos on here of people playing on these servers, and then they upload them to the site or YouTube. You can find them here.

If you join a server, you wait in the lobby for 5 minutes while waiting for people to vote for maps. I believe there is currently 12 maps on the servers, but you only get 4 options at a time. However, if enough people choose to skip the current map choices, you get 4 new ones!

Then in-game, it's loads of fun... you need to find loads of chests scattered around the maps, and get armour, food and weapons - but ultimately, you must try to survive. Make sure to kill as much people as you can! :D

If you happen to need help for anything else, feel free to message me and I'll be glad to help you! :)

Thanks a lot guys for the info! I will definitely consider getting it. :)

Oh, and just two more question: how long does a game generally last? And what's the max number of players that can be in one game? Cheers! :D

lol Sorry, I swear this will be the last question >_< but when you die do you leave the game, or do you get to fly around and watch the rest of the game?

You can choose actually, spectate (fly around and watch) or leave and join a new server

Minecraft for the PC is the best version and costs around $30. MCSG is fun, but is also super popular and you may want to donate ($10/month for iron sponsorship) unless you don't mind not getting into every server, although generally I can find a new game literally every 5 minutes.

Haha... Ive been playing within the first month that mcsg was made... The Games can last from 10-60 minutes... And most of the games mechanics have been explained above! Yes. Minecraft is definatly worth it to buy as the console versions are generations behind. Not to mention all of the excellent mods, servers, and endless singleplayer. MCSG is VERY addicting... I definatly hope to see a new face around here:D
