Since I am going to attempt to become a much more active on these forums I figured I'd give it a shot at a legit thread.

I have been playing The Survival Games on these servers since the week the servers were released back in April 2012 (Didn't make a forum account until May 25, 2012.) Over this span of 1 year 11 months, I have made many friends. But, unfortunately those friends came and went almost as fast as I made them in some instances.

Beta (Approx. April-August 2012):
My friends in Beta were all short lived. I honestly don't remember many of them. They are the ones I'd hide on SG1 with until dm and the ones I'd climb into the tallest tower and hide with on SG2. (I was a first class noob.) These friends set the bar for my MCSG experience, but, fortunately for me, MCSG version 1 set it even higher.

MCSG v1 (Approx. September (2012)-January (2013)):
This was the best era of MCSG. If you ask any old player, 9 times out of 10 they would agree. MCSG version 1 is where I began to make a name for myself. It is when I led one of the most dominating clans to date (The Romans) and it is when I made the bulk of my good friends. I remember these friends; however, most of these friends are gone and have moved on. MCSG version 1 definitely has a special place in my heart.

MCSG v2 (Approx. February (2013)-Present):
This was the update everyone was excited for, but disappointed lots. It is still great, don't get me wrong, but it basically rewrote how this game is played. Food, weapons, and armor were abundant. It caused people to lose a lot of skills they picked up in v1 and beta to not starve to death and to make due with what you had. PVP became more than bow and sword. There was actually lots of skill involved. This is when I had my personal downfall for pvp. (I am back at a competitive level now, but it was hard to make a transition, it was like writing with your right hand your whole life, and then being made to switch to your left hand, even though you didn't want to.) Friendships in this era have been short lived but plentiful. I have made more friends than in v1, but less GOOD friends. This is why the topic is nostalgia.

Nostalgia has never gotten to me more than it has on MCSG. I miss the old days of v1 when I was in my prime, I miss being adventurous and surviving as long as I could even though I knew I couldn't win in Beta, I miss the old friends, I miss old MCSG. However, new MCSG is good, for any old player, it is not as good as the past.

Thanks for reading and I hope you guys could take something away from this. I kind of feel like I wrote a shortened version of my MCSG story, but that will be for another day. :p

If you don't know:
nostalgia is: missing something from the past because one feels that the present is not as good
