As I did like there to be a huge mass of servers, there does get to that point where there are too many. If you are playing in a server with few people which forces the lobby to restart, is pointless. Though I do see where you are coming from, to dish out 50 more servers with 3-4 GB of ram is about 500 USD , I think don't quote me. Even if the host has made a deal, they don't really find it respectable that they aren't being used efficiently. Though I did like them, it's change, and things happen for a reason.

There being at least 50-65 empty servers 24/7 was pretty convenient for clans, but it was a huge waste of money. If I were in chad and the devs shoes, I would remove the 50 empty servers that nobody used. Instead I would try and think of a way to implement maybe 5 or so servers that were open only for clan battles and scrims and not available for normal players. It might be difficult to think of a way to implement the servers so it could only be used for clan battle purposes, but it would make both sides happy.
I see what idea your trying to point out. Maybe like renting a server for the day? It wouldn't be expensive, maybe not even cost anything.

I even notice now that some of the servers are still empty. I just went on the US hub and counted about 10 totally empty servers. With the way it was before with the hub being implemented and also having 200 servers made me feel like MCSG had a death wish. For one having 200 servers where 40% sat empty most of the time made it easy to get into games preventing people buying donor making the only ones who donate are the ones who donate to donate (which is a demographic of much less people) and two the more servers you have the more the costs go up, but you also have the donater count going down. Now with all of those servers gone MCSG can actually go focus on something like providing AU with more servers.
