[Question] Is the Fishing Rod tactic still useful with the new Sprint update?

Fishing rod tactic hasn't changed, it's just easier to hit them consecutively. In fact, fishing rods are going to play much more of an important role in 1.7 (well it is) because of the fact that seeing as someone can hit you continuously hitting back with the fishing will guarantee first hit + the next few.

I've been using it, it still seems to work.
Note: I went on a 1.7.2 server, got my Admin to sprint at me while I hit him with a fishing rod. He got knocked back, but didn't stop sprinting.
