Random Crashing and name tag error?

I was playing on sg 1 as normal...
The game began and I jumped off the pedestal freezing instantely?
I come back onto minecraft to find 12 tributes remaining?
It's then that i talk and see my name is in dark grey and someone says lots of people crashed and some didn't?
Then when the game ended I crashed again.
Any ideas whats happened?

Was there too. Nathan came onto the server as a normal player. Then when the game started, suddenly so many people left! I was just like "wtf?".
I was one of them who didn't crash. So Nathan came back and just had this dark grey name tag...

I had this dark nametag once too... Not sure what happened there... Maybe its some kind of secret?
