Hey forumers. Lucidictive here.

I want to remind you all about something that occurs online very frequently and without thought. The internet is useful for communication without face to face contact. While this is mostly good, people may forget what's actually happening. The anonymity of the internet can make all of us forget that those people you're flaming, or randomly throwing slurs out at, are living.. breathing, people. These people all have goals, interests, fears, and opinions. And these opinions may differ from yours, but that's okay! Really it is. People are entitled to their opinion.

When you argue with someone in real life, do you use these slurs and sling around these hateful comments? I'm guessing not. Next time you think about lashing out at someone, think about this: Would you say that to someone in real life? If not, it's probably not the brightest idea to say it online.. whether in forum or in game.

So here's what I'm asking you. Remember that, that guy who just said the new voting system is better, is a human with goals, interests, fears, and opinions. Let him/her have their opinion.

Another thing. As with real life, if you see someone having a bad day or getting hated on, maybe cheer them up. If you're having a bad day and someone cheered you up, maybe say thank you.. like we've all been taught to do in life.

So before you lash out at someone because they are flaming you, or said GG eZ, remember they are a person just like you. If you see others acting like this, passing this post to them might inspire them.

It's not even just MCSG. It's the fact that the internet is being used as a way to torment people, and we're all doing it without noticing it. There's not one person on this whole forum that can say "I've never treated someone, not even one, as I wouldn't in real life," it's just not possible.

The internet is a wonderful place for everybody. Just not some of the ways it's used for.

Very nice thread. Overall, people should just treat people here like they would in life. For all you know, you could even end up meeting that person later in life (that's not the only reason you should treat people properly though :p).

I agree with everything that you said. Even jokingly saying small rude/disrespectful things can really be taken the wrong way. Cyber bullying is just as bad if not worse than real life bullies, and it's nothing to be taken lightly.
