Someone explain this to me

So I live in Asia but for some reason i get less server lag when I play on US servers and more lag when I play on AS servers. This makes no sense, if it's closer, this signal would be stronger wouldnt it?

What's with the thing about points?

In response to the OP, where do you live in Asia? If you live on the Pacific you might be able to get a better connection to the US because it's in Arizona, and the network is probably stronger and more reliable.
