There is one and ONLY one way to stop hacking permanently : If Mojang made Minecraft an undetible game, in other words, you can't modify the game. Then and only then will there be no hackers. i think. someone back me up

Well, that's basically saying that no mods may be allowed. And MCSG can up their servers to not allowing any mods at all but then mods such as Optifine which alot of people need will be gone. It's the only way to stop "hacked clients" in these servers although I'm not sure people would go for it.

Your solution is to perm-ban innocent players because they share an IP with someone who hacked? The last thing we want to do is make this server less fun for legitimate players so that we stop a few more hackers from joining. How would you feel if you were barred from ever joining because of a mistake someone else made?

Doing that is very difficult, especially for a PC game. You can make it pointlessly complicated and difficult to mod, but you can't really stop modding without altering the entire infrastructure of the game.

Yeah, I think almost anybody who frequents these forums have seen these threads approximately
a hundred times. Its really frustrating when you do get killed by hackers, but honestly, I don't encounter
hackers as often people like to say they do....

Warning "math" ahead. Lets assume people actually fight or at least meet about 8 - 12 people per game
(outside corn at least). Many people claim that they encounter a hacker almost every 1 or 2 games. This
would suggest. Now this would suggest that there are anywhere from 2-4 hackers per 48 people in game.
Doesn't sound too bad right? Now we technically have 2 million players, but lets say that only 200,000
people have actually played MCSG several times (don't know how accurate this is). This would mean that
the server technically has around 8500-16500 hackers. Ouch.

So MCSG has 12500 hackers on average. So this means one of two things to me - there are so many hackers
on MCSG that it will be extremely challenging to completely eradicate them - with every hacker banned, a
new one will come on the servers sooner or later. But what's the more likely explanation? You guys are exag-
gerating. So yeah. Q.E.D.?

There is also a lot of players who accuse other for hacking when they are not. Many don't no the difference between lag and forcefield. And of course, there are the players who can't tell the difference between a pro PVPer, and a hacker.
