Well, everyone has been doing these, let me try too...
MCSG was not here for me from the start, seeing as I bought Minecraft just a few days after Minecraft 1.0.0 was released, however, I will briefly touch upon my pre-MCSG Minecrafting (not a word).
This story is a mixture of good and bad, mentions some friends and some enemies, some good experiences, some bad.
Pre-Minecraft: I was on holiday at my second cousin's house during the summer, and we were just... BORED, there was simply nothing to do, we did pretty much everything we could. So, my cousin started telling me about 2 games, Draconica and Minecraft, however, he was telling me about them in a rather weird fashion, and I just got the two mixed up in my head, however, when I did understand what he was saying, I considered Minecraft more my style than Draconica, so, I started asking more about it, he told me about single player, the looking for materials, the fighting monsters, the building, crafting, exploring... I was fascinated, I have never heard of such a sophisticated and fun game in my entire gaming life. So, when I got home, I searched it up, I made an account on minecraft.net, it was still in late Alpha or early Beta, and I started looking for the place where I was meant to play it, I found a "Buy", I was disheartened, I later asked my cousin and, to my slight horror, I found out that he had a cracked version, that was out of my comfort zone, so, I tried the Classic, that was very boring.
I forgot about Minecraft until early November when I decided to check Minecraft again and started exploring the website, the only interesting parts I found were the video by, I believe, Vareide on the front page and a tutorial on how to survive your first night by paulsoaresjr, the latter amazed me, I understood that Minecraft truly was an amazing game and I went on to watch ALL of paulsoaresjr's tutorials, each one made me want to watch more.
To make a VERY long story short, I made my parents let me get Minecraft.
At first, I was hooked up with Singleplayer, I built, like a paulsoaresjr fan boy, I used his world seeds and, basically, I did nearly everything you can in Singleplayer, I loved it!
Until 1.2.5, or whenever the Survival Games were first played, I only played Singleplayer, then, I watched paulsoaresjr's POV... IT WAS FRICKING AWESOME!!! I instantly went searching for a survial games server, I found MCSG, but it looked dark and confusing, so I, stupidly, left it alone and tried to find other servers, with no success...
Finally, I gave up and went to look for Spleef, this way,I quickly found Skitscape, with no SG at the time, and started playing Spleef. Suddenly, once when I joined, the chat was full of SKIT HAS SG!! And I went to investigate, I was amazed, my first game I came 5th in, but wanted more, more and more! I continued playing there, I tried to get my friends over with no luck...
Soon, my friends Fman2000 and PoisonedBiscuit got tired of my bugging them and showed me the MCSG servers, my first game was in Beta, and it wasn't too eventful, one of my friends had to leave half-way through, suddenly, though, Fman2000 and I found ourselves as the last 2 in-game! I instantly betrayed my friend and got a win. Since that game, I haven't played in MCSG's Beta times and had a 1:0 w/l ratio by fluke!
September: this was the month I returned to MCSG, I played on all servers, EU, US and AU and had a lot of fun. I didn't get any wins this month but teamed a lot with my friends, Fman2000, 118Andrew, PoisonedBiscuit, AsplodingApples. Most of them, however, didn't really enjoy it, so I started Skype-teaming with people I knew nothing about, this didn't help me at all.
October: this month, I got about 5 wins, my first 3 being on US and also on SG3. On EU, I went down to 0 bounty, on AU, I stayed around 90 and on US, I zoomed around 200 though I am from EU... At this point I rarely teamed.
November: I hardly got any wins this month, but I managed to make my fiend Fman200 enjoy SG again! These were happy times, we would team every day and try our best in all regions, though we hardly got any wins, this was the time when we rose above the n00b level.
December: I got my fiend antsville12 to get Minecraft purely to play SG, he was a total noob and, to my annoyance, he was hardly improving. On a nicer note, I got up to around 20 total wins and got my friend Fman200 up to around 5. Also, at the end of the month, I persuaded my mum to let me get iron sponsor. This made everything much easier and I understood that the money was totally worth it. I also decided to improve my YouTube (www.youtube.com/user/uritard) a bit.
January: I got my friend Smarkovic20 to join these servers and also redonated for a 3-month iron sponsor.my wins soared up to a stunning 40 or so and i was happy. Sadly though, my friend Fman2000 was drifting away from MCSG and hardly played at all.
February: I got up to nearly 70 wins and then had to go away on holiday with no MC! I had an iPad though and watched YouTube videos. Also, later, I went onto the forums for, probably, the second time and found out about clans, I found the EURebels and applied with my shortage of wins, Eshancowee said maybe no didn't give me a proper answer. Whilst he pondered, I easily got not BeastAttack and quit the next day. At the end of the month, Eshancowee actually accepted me in! Around this time, I also made my friend tottenham104 join MCSG Na distantly donate, also, Smarkovic20 donated too.
March: I got 100 wins near the end, also, smarkovic20's donor ran out and he couldn't donate again, making things harder, also, I quickly got into the forums and started posting a lot, made an insignificant enemy, #TheLegends! I made nearly 500 posts by the end of March.
April: I bought Smarkovic20 donor, finally found my PvP skill and, already, reached over 130 wins! (34 in 9 days). Also, something amazing happened, Elgoldo asked for a truce with me in pre-game, I was surprised, but great fully accepted! Despite my friend InYerFace13 telling me to betray Elgoldo, I knew that I didn't want so skilled an enemy!
Thank you for reading!
