With the new system, having over 3000 points could make many consider you a "pro." (Only a few people who I've seen that can hold this up consistently, even when looking at the leaderboards.) Over 1000 is "Above Average" and over 2000 is "Really good" or something along those lines. (I generally land in the 2800-3200 area. If I have a generally bad/good day though, it can go much higher/lower. I was awfully close to 4000 one time.)

...But, that's kinda the point in points. Points can be a nice way to gauge how "good" the player is. You notice a lot of "noobs" with less than 50 or so points, and it's just that; they probably are new to the game, or, "noobs."

This is the point in the system. Points become harder to get so that someone can't just go infinitely up, thus allowing there to be ranges in which you can gauge an opponents strength: Sure, there will occasionally be a guy with 3000 points who got on a lucky streak or a guy with 100 points who just sponsored a lot, but for the most part, it's a fairly accurate system that lets you determine threats and let's you have an idea on what to expect from the players in the game - it's not meant to be a grinding system where you infinitely bring it up. (If you want that, focus on wins instead. After all, that's what determines rank on the leaderboards. >.>)

My points just stay at 8,000...My peak was 12,000

When was the last time you played? :p I was easily able to stay around 8000-10,000 points back in the day, peaking at 14,000, but in MCSGv2, what with the point reset and new calculation, I doubt you'll ever touch 8000 again, lol.

I seem to hold up 1000-1800 points but I find it fun as it's harder to stay consistent at that area. Sure it would be nice to have less points taken off but I find it to be a good challenge. And like G33ke said, it can show who to watch out for :p

I got that in MCSGv1, I got up to 8,000 in my 1st month of mcsg and just stayed like that for ever basically...

Well, having a lot of points gets you punched or chased for no reason sometimes, personally I can't recall that last time I was fisted to death, it has been a while.

Points can gauge how good people are, but some people such as myself sponsor them away every once and a while. When I get to 2500 I tend to sponsor, not that I think I can sustain as much as you but I just don't really see the benefits of having points.

You don't see the benefits because there is none other than to show off. :p Since nobody really cares, that's kind of pointless as well. xD

I keep my points up anyway because I'm too lazy to sponsor people to get rid of them. >.>

The system is fair. :p If you have a lot of points, it means you're getting better in the games. And the games was meant to challenge you, right?

I think the point system is pointless and unfair.

In my opinion the point/bounty system just adds an extra unnecessary element of competition whilst actually not really meaning anything.

Success in Survival Games is heavily depending on luck. Sure there is an element of skill involved. You need to know where to be to have an advantage when it comes to fighting, you need to know where the tier 2 chests are but considering the fact that the contents of chests are randomized alot of success has to do with luck of the draw. The point system just add another annoying element to this.

Like people have already said when you have a high bounty, it's not uncommon to get teamed up against and even fisted at the beginning of a match.

If I personally got to chose I'd much rather see Wins and Kills displayed next to your name instead of this whole points system.

Also I have another couple of ideas that could help make the games more fair and skill based. But i might make a thread for those.

Firstly, points don't really matter in the grand scheme of things. Points can be bountied and used as sponsor currency. The main statistic used to determine player competence is wins. Secondly, as you get better at the game you will begin to kill these "super" players. So just focus on trying to win the game, points and kills will come.

Points are there for people who want to use them, they are not there as a scoring system, more as an in-game form of currency.
Also I would love see your ideas xD
