The treatment of Baccas on MCSG [MCSG PSA]

The treatment of everyone is important, but the treatment of Baccas specifically, has been on my mind for a while and I needed to address it.​

First things first, I want to say, something needs to be done. What I've noticed happening is NOT okay by any means.​

​

Bacca or not, they're a member of our community, and do not deserve to be harassed based on their likes, or choice in skin.​

​

Yes, Baccas can be annoying, but so can anyone! Assuming all Baccas are "Immature, Grammatically incorrect, and unruly Bajan fans" is totally wrong. Just about anyone can follow those parameters, not just Baccas.​

It's stereotyping, and it's NOT okay.​

​

They need to be treated fairly. If not given a chance to prove themselves, how will you ever know? How will you ever know if they're the next top poster, the next well-established community member, the next staff member. You will never know these things if you exclude them from your groups, make unfair assumptions, insult, and harass.​

​

Judge them for who they are, not what they look like.​

Posting these rude, mean-hearted, oblivious comments on their threads, posts, conversations-- it's NOT okay, and you all need to realize that.​

​

Everyone needs to be treated equally.​

​

Posting "Wow, another stupid bacca" on their threads isn't okay. Sure, you might get likes, but that isn't what it's about. ​

Get your head out of your arse and realize there are other people in this world-- people that need to be treated fairly, and with respect, whether it's online, or in real-life.​

As a moderator, I will come down like a thunderstorm of ducks on you, if I find you targeting or harassing ANYONE. The post will be deleted. This is not okay, and if I see a specific person doing it excessively, I will look into a ban.​

It is harassment, and harassment is taking very seriously. Harassment is cyber bullying, which is basically a crime. Think before you post.​

Put yourself in the Bacca's shoes. Imagine constant insults, harassment, negativity towards you just because you're a fan of BajanCanadian, or Jerome.​

​

Do people harass you in school for liking lollipops? Do people harass you for enjoying a certain type of television? Maybe they do, but then you should know. You should know what it's like. You should be able to understand what it feels like to be constantly targeted just because someone else doesn't like what you do. ​

I honestly don't care who you are. Harassing Baccas-- anyone, is never Okay, and I WILL do something about it.​

Baccas are people too. They are not toys to throw around, punching bags to smack about, they are people. People with feelings, people with likes and dislikes, and people who deserve respect.​

​

All of this hate needs to stop. ​

Duck, baccas are nubs. Get your head out of your arse. (kidding Baccas are people to you know. Or they're baccas. But you get the point)
I would also like to point out that if you ever see me, RC, VeeZa, Marboo or other people among us in game "harassing" baccas, we are just joking. We don't mean anything bad.

I'd also like to remind everybody that making comments such as '#killallbaccas2013' in-game is a punishable offense as it is classed as an abusive and discriminatory comment against a group of people.

I have also seen people acting in an absolutely disgusting manner towards Baccas when they make threads here, when they spot them in-game, etc, and it is just not right. Just because they like to watch a person's videos does not make them any less of a human being than you are, and if you truly believe yourself to be on a higher level than a Bacca, then you need to stop being elitist and begin treating everybody equally and with the same rights.

And same as anyone else if you see them making a problem you should report them. But it shouldn't be assumed that they are all a problem; I bet less that 25% of baccas are actually going to be breaking the rules.

I only say things about Baccas if they talk to me like that.

Is it okay to go in-game and start harassing Baccas for no reason? Definitely not, but I've had the problem of them basically harassing me first, and I'm not afraid to bite back if they do it. But otherwise, it's basically discrimination, and people who do insult Baccas try to seem superior about something that nobody truly cares about.

May I also add on, that me being a brony, is kind of similar. You always get those cool kids who like to talk crap about you liking a certain show, so that's one thing I can give to the Baccas.

But seriously, I OWE baccas. I used to not like them, but I've grown to love them. My views on baccas in February gave me some early popularity here, and they are responsible for a lot of good times with friends. They were influential in the development of Benjaminism. I actually have a lot of fun trying to unite all the baccas in games. Thx baccs i lov u leget
