I'm going out on saying this server really crashed and isn't and will never be in a good state. I'm probably going to get this post deleted because mcsg doesn't want people saying bad things about this server. I remember when there was Map 1 and it was an awesome map. There were no hackers and was all on pvp. No teams, just combat skills. Diamonds were common and that made it fun making silly things like diamond blocks and juke boxes. I bet noone will remember these things except for the_arena_master who are one of the old school people that played this since the beginning. The mods are too young for their age to even ban and judge people. A 15 year old thinking they know how to tell if someones hacking. The old maps and layout was flawless. Now it's just crap. You say one cuss word and there goes a kick from a round you were dominating. When I first played this server, I was excited to even start a round because of my heart racing everytime I ran to get corn chests. There weren't that many donators in a server so if you got in a server, there wouldn't be 24 other iron donaters kicking you and frustrating you to quit everytime. It wasn't a problem back then because Chad didn't make that many servers. The Hive is doing better than mcsg, but none of them really have that sensation of playing. I'm still going to play a little to see if the server got better in any way, but most likely Chad and their developers will not succeed. Therefore forever quitting.

While, yes, some of those "feelings" are gone. I wouldn't go as far as to call MCSG crap. Yes, the servers have made quite a few mistakes here and there, but there are still so many things you can do on the server. As for teams and hackers, they were still there bud. 2 of my first threads was a hacker report and talking about an 8 team. Joining was also harder as servers didn't restart, remember? You would have to refresh your server listing of like 20 servers every second just to get in.

If you want the old school feeling, I currently have a petition thread with over 125 signatures to bring out a few old school servers.

Also, if you're looking for fun on MCSG, let me leave you one word: vines
Sorry to hear you're leaving, while I agree MCSG has dropped immensly in quality, it is still enjoyable. Fairwell.

Ouch.

I respect your decision-- leaving is your choice, but, I will contradict most of what you're saying. Sorry if I sound rude here, but his entire thread is quite rude, regardless.

I'm probably going to get this thread deleted because mcsg doesn't want people saying bad things about this server.
It won't be deleted, but it probably will be locked. Why? It's a flame war waiting to happen. If you wanted to prove a point, you've got to word it nicely, and that's just the fact. Yeah, of course, mcsg advocates don't necessarily appreciate negativity, but making the assumption something bad will happen doesn't help with something good happening.

There were no hackers and was all on PVP.
As much as we'd all love this, and want to have it, it just isn't possible. There's always people who are out for their own personal gain, and aren't considered what it does to other people. You honestly can't expect any server anywhere to be hacker free ever, because it just isn't possible.

I'm not really sure what you meant by "all on PVP" either. We are playing a game where the goal is to murder 23 other people, so I'm not totally sure what you meant by that, but, to each their own :)

No teams, just combat skills.
There was a day when there were teams? I find that rather hard to believe. As fantastic as it would be PVP-wise, people look to this for fun-- teaming with friends, clan mates, sometimes randoms-- teaming is a choice people have, and many enjoy. It's essentially impossible to prevent teaming, and I'm not sure how it previously didn't exist.

The mods are too young for their age to even ban and judge people. A 15 year old thinking they know how to tell if someone's hacking.
This one gets me rather upset. Myself, being an age exception to the age limit (13), felt I did a fairly good job while moderating, and honestly think what you're saying here is straight out disrespectful.

"A 15 year old thinking they know how to tell if someone's hacking". Your point is? Anyone can think someone's hacking, no matter what age. Age has absolutely NOTHING to do with telling if someone is hacking-- it's simply a skill.

Holding a bias, or grudge, making unfair bans for attention-- that has to do with age, and maturity, but nowhere in here did you even mention that.

Please, don't base anything on age. An 18 year old moderator could make worse bans than a 15 year old moderator.

Moderating is a skill, not something that comes with age. You don't just turn 18 and be able to liberate hacks, from no-hacks.

The old maps and layout was flawless. Now it's just crap.
Ouch. Some of our newer maps might not be the best, but a game or two you have to skip, or enjoy a little bit less because of the map doesn't mean our entire map system is "crap".

This is all really a matter of opinion, which is why you're leaving, and that's OK, I totally respect that, but I'm expressing my opinions here :)

---

I've "dissected" the points I saw arguable, and hopefully shed a new light on some of your thoughts. I don't mean in any way to disrespect you, or your thoughts, but, hopefully allow you to see another opinion.

If you do decide to leave, best of luck in future endeavors :)

Sure it doesn't feel like the good ol' days of MCSG back in the day but "never be in a good state again"? I have to disagree with that. Hackers and teams were always here at MCSG and always will be, there is no Survival Games server that doesn't have either and quite frankly we can't do anything about it other than banning hackers and facing the teams. Saying that Moderator's don't know what they're doing came off a bit rude. I myself being one of the younger mods feel that I can identify hacks quite well. Age shouldn't decide a moderator rather what they do that defines them. On the new maps, I can agree that not all are top quality and enjoyable to play but to call them crap is a bit off. I actually enjoy most of the new maps such as Valleyside, Holiday Resort and Rugged Lands more than SG1 and 2. I respect your decision of leaving and understand your points but I can strongly disagree that MCSG is going in a bad state.

I is teovald and i'm going to rant.

Anyways. When it comes to old school mcsg. I agree, there where less hackers. But since this "community" has grown, it has to be more hackers. The hackers aren't really something we can do anything about.

Hacks leads us towards my next subject: Moderators.

Moderators used to be somewhat more uncommon. I accept that there has been more mods recently. The community has grown, more hackers., more mods to keep control of them. What i am gonna do now may seem a bit radical. It may be unfair even. But i'm going to bring up some examples of the people they have unfairly banned.
ExKing Canziano And last, but not least. Myself. The newest wave of moderators has been a complete mess-up, since they are obviously not fit for the job. They accuse and ban players for non-guilty reasons. I guess 14 year olds aren't emotionally mature enough.

I am now gonna discuss the matter of NoSh#tplus. I don't see many people complaining about it. Just to make this clear. I do not wish it to be removed. I want it more tweaked. the current verision does not block any sprint and aimbot based hackers. It only blocks clicking, and flying. I wish it to be tweaked to a level where it is weaker on the clicking part. I mean, 3 clicks a sec is not much to ask for, but obviously i am forcefielding when i do that.

And last of all, mobs. The monsters where a fun part of the survivalish thingy. Nowadays it's just run somewhere, pick some overpower chests and kill people with your full iron armor. Then repeat and repeat all over again. Monsters created fun scenarios. Things that players can't do by themselves.
Now you must be asking questions like "What about the poll ingame?"
I tell you this. Most of the people who voted was either the noobs that got killed by mobs in the beta. Or the ones that hasn't even experienced it. So the poll is quite unfair, since people haven't even tried it.

And when would those exploding podiums be added? it seemed like a fun addition.

Anyways, all of these opinions are my own, and based on own experiences.

teovald I completely agree with you post. I have to say that I do not know so much about the new moderators because my ban was in december. I have to say that one of the problems are not the staff but some of their decisions. I have been hearing a lot lately from people that moved at hive that they did that because of the "sh!t staff on MCSG". I am not going to agree with that because the problem isn't the staff members (ok maybe sometimes that's the problem but rarely)but their decisions that sometimes cause problems on the community. And then the staff members are trying to find what caused that problem. I know that sometimes things like that happen because everyone makes mistakes but also you should learn from your mistakes right?

I do not want to offend anyone with this post. Just my opinion :)
