Hey guys I'm in the "minority" of mcsg players that don't like all the mainstream maps. Personally, I like maps that are almost never picked such as remnant and origins. However, whenever I play a game, there is a 99% chance that either Valleyside, SG4, Zone85, Alaskan Village, Demon's Breeze or Breeze island 1/2 ( there are a few others I can't name off the top of my head) will be picked. While these maps are very well built, they get kinda old and boring, and I never have the chance to play maps that I truly like.

My suggestions:
Revert back to chance of getting a map being based on percentage
Decrease appearance of the "famous" maps in the choices
add extra votes to the non "famous" maps

To be honest, I agree with the fact that certain maps are overplayed; however, I do not believe that some of the suggestions are good solutions. Bringing back the raffle voting system will help and I think it should go back to raffle voting. Decreasing the amount of times a map shows up is something that I personally hope is avoided. It might work, but first you must define what overplayed is. Finally, I do not think adding extra votes for specific maps is going to happen. If you want extra votes, buy a donor rank at http://shop.mcgamer.net.

Maybe the "Previous Maps" could be removed until a server restart, and by overplayed, I mean those listed in the original post. The extra votes thing was just an idea I threw in b/c I didn't know what else to write, and next sale :p

Not trying to burst your bubble, but MCGamer pleases by majority, not minority; though, you probably knew this already.
Really, I recommend that you make a poll or something with enough votes with people that have the same vision as you. Because from the way MCGamer sees things, one person isn't a big enough reason to change a whole system.
However, I mean, you're a member. lol. How do you even expect to play these maps with just 1 vote? xD

I understand that its a minority, all I'm saying is that there should be more of a chance to please that minority :p
Many people don't even vote anymore b/c it's no hope, i once went "vote for remnant, valley side is overplayed" and got 8 votes for remnant short to the 11 votes for valley side

Some ideas that have been brought up:
  • Square the number of votes then apply Raffle Voting, making it much heavier for larger numbers.
  • A map must have at least 10% of the votes to be considered for Raffle Voting.
  • Only the top two maps out of the five are considered for Raffle Voting.
  • After a map has not been played for five games, it automatically starts out in the lobby with a vote. If not for ten games, then it starts with two votes, etc.
  • Every time a map gets played, the chances of it showing up in the next few dozen games are decreased slightly.
  • Raffle Voting such that once twenty votes have been cast, any map with over 50% of the votes is automatically chosen. If there is no majority, regular Raffle Voting is applied.
