As a player that has played 4500 games on accounts I have started to notice that the amount of hackers on MCSG is rapidly increasing and that the amount of moderators that i come across is extremely low. it makes me very upset to see that the server I enjoy the most is being ruined by cheaters, I feel as though lately every game I enter has at least one hacker that I have to compete with, I'm not usually a person to rage at hackers but when there are so many I feel as though that there should be someone who has to bring it up. I know people hacking is not anyone's fault except themselves but I feel that MCSG is a big enough server to tackle hackers and deal with them. instead of turning a blind eye to them, I know I'm not the only person thats feels like this. as me and my friend got that annoyed that we decided to find and report as many hackers as we could, and in the first 30 minutes of recording hackers we managed to record 13 hackers and get 6 of them perm banned and the other 7 also banned. now I don't feel as though its completely the average player that should be trying there best to get people banned. it should be the staff that do this instead as they was the ones that took that role and was interested in it. and when you go in any hub to find staff there are never any there, so then you try Team speak and allot of time you get no response. I feel as though MCSG is a big enough server that they can find easier ways of tackling hackers and making MCSG a better server to play on here are a some ideas that may work.

1. More mods could be added in my opinion the more mods the better.
2. Mods need to be more active
3. Mods not play in the same server as each other as much so they can cover more servers
4. Make a plugin that can tackle's the most used hacks (E.g. when MCSG tackled BSM)

I hope that if anyone who can make an impact on the server reads this then they hear the community out and make changes ASAP because i know that the server is becoming less popular due to the server being taken over by so many hackers.

If you agree with me then do something to get someone important to read this. so that we can finally have one game where I don't have to worry about hackers. Just to also add that this isn't a bad message to any moderators, as I know that most of you do your job well.

So leave me a comment and tell me your opinion.

These threads have been made over and over but thanks for having the decency to at least try to make a solution instead of complaining like others. There is a way to stop hackers completely. It is possible although it might ruin gameplay for MCSG and make it no fun at all. They could either up the NCP so that it is so strict that it ruins the gameplay, but may prevent hackers. Or, they can make MCSG a server that doesn't allow mods, but then what about Optifine? Or FPS Booster? Or other mods that allow players to actually have fun and play without lag. That is the only solution so far although I don't think the devs want to risk doing so.. Until this day, there is no plugin to stop clients other than BSM. The mods are currently working effortlessly to stop and make MCSG better. I have seen a decrease (even if just a tiny bit) through the last month and even though there probably never will be a hacker-clean server, we are doing the best we can.

I will be discussing each of your points in turn.

Not entirely true. While having more mods is great, at this current time we are looking for better quality of moderators over a large quantity of mods. It's better to have fewer good mods, than it is to have lots of less than good mods.
2. Mods need to be more active
I agree. I would love to see mods really active. The only problem is that not every mod is the same. Some mods have to take time off because they want to focus on school or for other reasons, which is perfectly understandable. We cannot force people to give up their personal life to moderate the servers.
3. Mods not play in the same server as each other as much so they can cover more servers
I can understand where you are coming from with this. However, mods aren't modbots. They want to have fun and enjoy the game just as much as you. It'd be kind a very unfair rule to make it so moderators cannot play in the same server together. Also, if a person comes to them with a hacker report, they are supposed to leave the server or game they are currently playing in to investigate.
4. Make a plugin that can tackle's the most used hacks (E.g. when MCSG tackled BSM)
We do have an anti-hack plugin, called No Cheat Plus. But, the configuration of the plugin is a fickle thing. If we make it more strict, it will interrupt vanilla gameplay to the point of making the game unplayable. But if we lessen the restrictions much more, you'll see a lot more hackers than you see already. Now, you mention our autoban for BSM. That's different. The Better Sprint Mod automatically sends packets of information to the server. Those packets tell the server that this user has BSM. We simply modified it so when our server gets that packet of info, it does an automatic ban.

From the 100 games I play, I don't see a moderator in any of those 100... I don't know what are they doing, seriously, but not a single moderator. Not even on the low servers....

Mods are doing other work such as: moderating the forums, looking at abuse reports as well as other things. With the moderator applications re-opened though hopefully there will be a fluctuation in new skilled mods, if we manage to get the mod numbers up enough to have one in every ten games you join then that should dramatically reduce the number of hackers playing on the servers. Also less people will hack if they know their are a lot of mods on the servers where as now when there is not many they think they can get away with hacking. Hackers generally will turn off their hacks if they know a mod is in the game so just having a mod in most games should help.

Then again, lots of mods now enter games in Game Master, creating them to be invisible and disguised so hackers won't just turn off hacks when they see a red name come in.

Yes, I'm fond to your comment, but my comment was referring to never see a moderator playing. I just feel they are waiting for members like me to record the hacker and report them rather than actually them playing in-game and finding and recording the hackers by themselves.

I do understand staff doesn't have all the time and they are donating their free time for the will of the server however, with such a vast amount of moderators, specially for the region —I play which is US—, I can't believe from the 100 games I played, I only saw 1 mod and he was spectating.

I don't know if it is even possible to do this but I might as well say it.
I think MCSG should make a plugin where the plugin has a list of Mods, such as Optifine, FPSBoosters, directions mod, and whatever is allowed on MCSG compiled in a list in the plugin. If someone tries to log on to the MCSG network with an unknown mod that is not programmed in the plugin, i.e Nodus the server will not recognize that mod and will not let that user join the server, but if a User logs in with any of the mods programmed in the list, it will let the user join the server. Sorry if this seems confusing, but I hope this is possible :)
