What is the point of having a chest route?

But they're never going to get better if they have you feeding them wins. It's a little cheap don't you think? It doesn't matter if you're nice or not , eventually your buddies are gonna have to learn to win by themselves.

The purpose is (in my opinion, at least) just having a general sense of direction, and being able to guarantee yourself some loot, if you can get there fast enough.

Having a chest route is kind of like having something to fall back on. If you don't get anything good from corn, you know that you have chests, and a general sense of direction to retreat into and gather some loot.

I don't have a Chest Route on maps. If I do, the chest route is usually around 2-3 chests. I get tier 2 chests, then if I don't find a sword, I look for more chests. Once I have a weapon (Stone Axe or above), I usually go out hunting.

So in summary: You don't need Chest Route's to win, you just need skill. (I use block-hitting as skill)
