Recently, a mcsg youtuber made a thread about how to record high quality, non laggy gameplay. The thread: http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/a-youtubers-guide-to-hq-recording.86250/

He uses OBS recording software, which is a REALLY REALLY GOOD recording software out of personal experience. It barely lags gameplay and the recording size files are super small compared to programs such as fraps. Like I recorded a 3 hour recording (by accident) and it only took up about 6 gb's of storage, which is nothing.

Fraps is a popular recording software, but it's not very good... It takes up a LOT of storage, it's fps intensive, causing your gameplay to be less smooth, and it's 40$. I've found a free recording software that doesn't take up a lot of space, barely takes away fps, and is super customization.

It depends if you want it for free or not.
1) The most popular recording software is Fraps. Fraps costs but you can get it via pirate bay for free. The bad thing is that it takes a lot of space.
2) Bandicam. It's free and it's okay for recording hackers, but not like your gameplay.
3) OBS I've heard from a lot of people that it's really good, but I haven't tried it myself yet.
