Why Do People Even Boast About Stats? [Mini-Rant]

Personally, I have horrible stats.

I hate it when people criticize me, or other people about their stats. Why do they matter so much, it's almost impossible because hackers practically run the place. [No offense mods ;c]

Any thoughts on this?

I mean, criticizing stats just happens by rude members of the MCSG society. One more thing... Hackers definitely do not run the place. If you think hackers run MCSG, you need to study up on your hacks.

Statistics matter because it shows your ability to pvp like other players can and how well you can be. You can only be judged by /stats in a competitive community and there is nothing you can do against it. If you want to be known as a good player, get to the top.

It's more pride. People feel that by sharing their achievements they might get attention for it, when in reality they don't. Either way, I wouldn't worry about being taunted for your stats. You know how many times I have been asked if I've reset my stats when in reality I just suck at the game? xD

I like to set a goal to get good stats, and personally, I think it's fun! However, being mean to someone because of stats is immature. Who knows, maybe the next Huahwi will rise from #500,000!

There is no point in judging someone by stats, since they could be amazing and just have bad luck. But everyone likes stats because as Scott said, it's a pride thing, people work for their stats to be good, and some people just like to boast.

If hackers run the place, I shouldn't spend an hour leafing through the XAC reports and maybe catch 1-2 hackers at best along with hardly ever encountering them naturally ingame.
