I don't play on The Hive too often due to everyone with BSM, but I guess the attraction is the youtubers. There SG plugin is meh. I could only see myself playing there alot is if I had a reason to leave MCSG.

This might be said already, but I tell you the reasons.

Hive is the biggest server network out there. They have 20000 slots because they reached 10000 already, which is the maximum amount of slots for other big servers (MCGamer, Shotbow, Hypixel, Minecade etc.).

The Survival Games over there is different. They use crates, MCSG uses chests. I actually like crates, since chest finder isn't able to do it's thing there.

The biggest YouTubers that play Minecraft, play there. Where did SkyDoesMinecraft feature his 5m subscriber special Q&A? In The Hive. People love to see some YouTubers in-game. This might not the main reason of them moving, but it is really nice to know that you have a small chance to meet any of those YouTubers.

BSM. Some people like that, because not everyone has it and it gives an advantage. Because of the fact that BSM is allowed over there, the players that know more about the game will use it, unless they have reasons.

There are tons of other reasons to explain why people move back and forth. The Hive and MCGamer are similar, but also different. People have their preferences, and those preferences change sometimes.

I just play both. They both offer different challenges and different gameplay. I find both very fun.
Although the community here, is in my opinion, better than theirs.

I don't understand this post, but I think you should check out this website before making backless claims: http://www.topmcnetworks.com
That only pings the US hub alone, not all games, and regions so it's very innacurate. We should really be up to either second or third, but because it only checks the hub it doesn't provide all of our numbers.

MCSG gets about (including everything) 2500 regularly 5000 (perhaps even 6000) when the most people are playing(after school, etc.) Most players on Mcgamer come for SG and very few actually come for other games such as TF2, Zedchase, survival, and creative. I believe that MCSG actually has more people playing SG than Hive does, as usually about half or more are playing the minigames. (Hive gets about twice the players of mcsg with 5k at lower and 10k at highest.) So honestly, we aren't doing to bad. We just need more gametypes that would attract players to the server.

That's weird...you're right, actually, that is what it's doing right now.
In the past, that list worked flawlessly with MCSG's player count. Odd that it isn't anymore. (I'm being serious here - it used to list us completely accurately just a few days ago.)

Still, you can always check this page and compare the numbers: http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/servers

Also it says 134-200 players online all the time on topmcnetworks.com
