Why is it that the EU and AU servers are laggy but the US is not? I don't see why location has a difference. My internet connection is really good but when I play on Foreign servers like EU its laggy. :( Before I used to play on the EU servers in Beta MCSG more than US and it was perfect. Now its laggy and I dont know why. Before I had a suckish router and now I changed to a better one and now its laggy. Place your comments and answers here. Appreciate it.

P.S. I live in US.

My best guess would be that its a combo of them being servers hosted on different continents, and possibly the dramatically larger population of MCSG these days.

The real reason is the fact that location does matter, regardless of what you may think.
The connection between you and the foreign servers depends on a lot of factors, such as where your traffic is routed through (usually at least 12 different "routers") and how far away it is. The farther the continent, and the more cable / fibre optics that the data has to go through, the slower the response will be.

Oh but still before in beta EU was not laggy at all for me and played it just like US now. So my question is why was it not laggy before but is now?

It may be because the EU servers were previously hosted out of Germany, and they're now in East France.

Do router differences make a change? I changed from a slow router to a fast router and now it became laggy.. Why?

Again, if you're trying to connect to a server in Europe or Australia, it will be a lot laggier than to the USA, as the distance does matter.
