The people that think they're good for killing you with a 10-man team of fist fighters right at the beginning.

People who automatically assume people that team are noobs and can't play for Good by ourselves.
Dem stats. 15% < 33%. That aside, my point was pretty much exactly what Zeno said. Watching people play on a team when they can win without doing so is like watching someone pubstomp in L4D. That garbage completely ruined that game for me, and otherwise, it was a lot of fun. Killing seven or eight people and getting geared for DM only to find out there's a pair of top-100 (read: competent, organized) players waiting for you basically just tells you you've wasted the last 10-30 minutes. Whee.

EDIT: Actually, I'll elaborate a bit on why I call team players bad. Just got out of a match where a top 10 player was on a team. I got geared, full iron and a diamond sword. They had three people. I found them standing around, partially geared, not paying any attention at ALL, and got four good hits in on said top 10 player. He survived. Why? Because he had help. A stupid mistake like that gets you killed if you're solo, IE relying on your own skill and not another set of hands/ears/eyes. Playing on a team is a crutch for bads.

anybody want a slightly used soapbox?

I hate fistfighters to begin with. Breeze is bad enough without someone having a seizure on you while you're trying to get a weapon to kill them with.

I still think NCP, I'm always getting annoyed with it. I spent 30 seconds yesterday killing a guy with nothing, up against a wall, with my diamond sword. o_O

I actually particularly enjoy seeing a team, especially of highly ranked players, in corn or something. If I stumble across any strong clan I'll still be happy. I love a challenge, it helps me improve, learn, and have a bit of fun. I don't even care much if I die, not only was it a learning experience, but I also had fun, and that's what matters. This is a game after all.

That's something I want to mention, actually: Remember, this is a game after all...stats don't matter much. As much as I love having a high point amount and win amount, I'm not just in it for stats - I'm here to have fun, too. When I die to something like that, I laugh, I don't get frustrated and mad, and I don't feel like a half hour was wasted. (Although, I do have my fair share of frustration from "cheap" feeling deaths, especially when I'm on a losing streak, like I have been for the last couple of days.)

I'd say that's true more thanks to teaming in the first place (and lag, and NCP, etc etc etc) than to this being a game. I also generally don't bring stats up unless they're relevant to the conversation. I play games competitively, hence why L4D was ruined for me - there's a difference between competition and slaughter, and only one of the two is enjoyable at all for me. Trying to fight a skilled, organized team is akin to bashing my face against a wall - the core gameplay of MCSG is amazing without that getting in the way; I've yet to find anything similar.

Well, I guess that's just what you like then - personally, while I do care about a stats (a little too much, actually.) I do learn to have fun and laugh at my mistakes too, and even have a laugh when I lose to teams like that...it makes it much more enjoyable for me.

The more and more I play, the more I learn just how easy it really is for me to take down teams... (as long as they aren't elites in the rebels or something. :p) I'm learning more tricks to keep them fightable. Simply having more skill than them helps a lot, but mainly, it's separating them...which I'm learning how to do in the middle of a land fight. Taking advantage of those small gaps of time where you are free to hit one with a fishing rod, then quickly switch to the sword, knock the other away just low enough on health to run a bit, quickly pull out that flint and steel with that small gap of time I was granted with the earlier fishing rod...I'm capable of doing amazing if I'm in that "zone" of mine, and it makes taking on teams just as easy as a single person.

I once was in that "zone" when against my friends in a deathmatch. One was in full iron with an iron sword, the other half chain half iron with an iron sword, and I had half chain half iron with a diamond sword. This was on Breeze island. They kept making the right moves - attempting to give me no chance to get away, no chance to get out of the water, things of the like, but my aiming, timing and overall skill with the fishing rod improved, and I won the battle by doing multiple separating maneuvers. It's entirely possible to fight a team as if they were one, it just takes a lot of practice...it's a part of the game that you have to overcome.

Not necessarily...
I've ran for 10 minutes once (literally) and then they finally left me alone for corn, two minutes after the refill already happened. (I had no armor on, wasn't holding a diamond or anything, they just wanted my points.)
I then proceeded to craft an iron sword, put on my iron armor I had, head to corn and kill him. I won that game. (I had more stuff the entire time, I just needed time to craft.)

Pro tip: Everyone is going to run indefinitely. They will never "give up". If you cannot catch up to them and they don't have stuff worth chasing them all game for, then don't bother...you can get much better stuff/chests by leaving them alone. Honestly, what annoys me is the people that chase me until the end of time, not the people who run.
Generally I chase players who I know are high value targets because I know I need to get rid of them before they get too dangerous. I once chased someone but left him alone and he killed me later on, much to my annoyance. Also, I feel a dedication to what I start, because when you start a chase you expect to end up killing the person and getting something out of it.

While it's smart to take out the strong targets, it's still no excuse to chase them for 10 minutes...the reason I killed him is because I knew his location after I ran for 10 minutes, if he had not waited until refill, I would have had a really hard time finding him. Chasing someone, even a highly ranked player, for more than 3 minutes, can greatly decrease your chances of winning...it's better to be in an even fight with a pro than in half leather wooden sword against a full iron diamond sword opponent.

(The guy I killed also admitted to me that he just wanted my points. :p)

I wouldn't really mind 10 minutes worth of work for 2.5% of 10,000 :D
