While you are entitled to your opinion, I'm going to give mine. Please note that I am not in anyway saying your opinion is wrong, it's your opinion.
Breeze Island was a truly innovative map at the time. It broke quite a few grounds when it comes down to it all, including: first fan submitted map, first map to have more water than main land, first map to take place on an island. At first sight Breeze is an attractive map, that's a plus, but some of the things you mentioned can be taken quite negatively. Such as:
- "Almost always a big fight at spawn": there's typically a big fight at every spawn, if anything it's a bit more frustrating because if someone has a sword and is near you, you're typically dead. You don't even get a chance for survival or any space to run.
- "So many routes to take": there's routes on every map, if anything: i feel very limited with my chest routes on Breeze. A good route is almost always ran on by 4 or so people. And any other route typically consists of little to no chests, which is quite a downfall.
-"The water chases aren't that bad": They're pretty bad. Having to swim for over 5 minutes just to try and kill someone is annoying. The constant rodding just get's repetitive and annoying.
-"Final 3 goes by fast": That's not really a pro, and for me it goes by fairly slow because the players are just running in a circle forever. I typically just have to wait it out in the center until the lighting presses them into coming into the corn. A deathmatch shouldn't go by for that long unless it's a really epic fight, which it isn't.
-"Getting kills with a bow": Gee, never seen that done on a map before.
-"The free diamond sword": I'm not really familiar with the diamond sword you're mentioning, but that sounds extremely OP.
With that last one, it's no wonder you like this map. You probably win nearly every game once you get your handss on a powerhouse weapon like that.
