This is like the 6th thread i've seen talkimg about unfair fake bsm bans. I think by now that the problem should have stopped, but it persists!

I appreciate that you apoligize, some mods wouldn't even have the decency to do that, but this problem is just out of hand. I can see why you would ban someone in your case, keeping the community clean is the name of the game for mods.

However, how can you tell if someone has BSM? You can't! There's no POSSIBLE way! It doesn't increase the player speed, for all we know the player just double tap's w fast. Which isn't that hard to believe. Changes need to be made to this system. BSM banning is too shady and the evidence just isn't clear enough.

Actually, you can detect it. Sprinting whilst hitting someone is impossible in minecraft without this mod.

If a player maintains a sprint after hitting another player, it's most likely Bsm. Another dead give away would be if they're scaling a mountain with a jump after every block, and they keep sprinting. While it isn't impossible, it's pretty hard to keep a sprint going with one block of space after every jump.

Honestly, people are STILL using BSM, they should've learned this after the BajanCanadian ban three months ago, instead, people are STILL USING IT! Chances are that people probably haven't changed at all since that day...people REALLY need to learn that the Better Sprint Mod is against the rules.

P.S. In order to tell if someone is using that mod, just take a look at their feet, if particles are coming out of their feet even when they aren't running, that means it's likely they are using BSM.

I see your points but again the staff are trying to do their best in banning the correct people with actual BSM. This has been brought up multiple times and the staff are aware of the problem. I can try to bring it up in the next meeting if you would like.

Unfortunately with Canziano's evidence was apparent.
There was sprint particles while he was in a chest and while eating.
Two things that are not able to occur in vanilla Minecraft.

He was also registering multiple NCP errors which is what alerted the developers.

No one in the MCSG community will know and understand more about hacks than a developer and one can not argue with their decision.

Do I believe Canziano hacked?
I find it hard to believe, but the evidence is quite obvious which is why I can't argue against it.

We as moderators do the best we can to monitor and patrol these servers. We have dozens of bans to perform everyday as since we're only human we can be wrong from time to time.
Which is why we give everyone the ability option to dispute a ban.

If you believe a moderator is unfair then post a report abuse with sufficient evidence.
Please don't make threads as this will only start flame wars.

BSM is one of the hardest hacks to detect. We do as best as we can to detect and ban the players using it. There are ways to see if a person is using BSM. Like as wronsiski said above, sprinting whilst hitting someone. But other ways is that the person keeps on sprinting after hitting the side of an halfblock for example. But this is really hard to detect because as you say, sometimes people might just have double pressed W really quick. But we do as best as we can to catch the people using it, and of course it will be some people getting unfair bans because of this, but they will get unbanned. We are humans, we do mistakes.

2 things that should be said about this comment:

2. Canziano was permanently banned for Better Sprint as well with a video that only proved that he could kill a couple of people that had worse stuff than him. It took TheJustHello 2 videos to get Canziano unbanned, and even then some mods didn't like the decision. I believe that he then got banned for AutoSprint because he was standing still with sprint particles under his feet on eu9001, which means that there was no proof.

He also had sprint particles while in a chest, and with food under his feet. If that's not sufficient evidence, then unfortunately we've got over a thousand people we need to apologize to.
