Hacker Catching - Why You Don't Need to Tell Mods

You can't really ban someone for waterwalking with a screenshot, no matter how honest you're being. It's rather unfair, and it could have just been timing.

A video shows it truly, and is therefor the trusted way to supply evidence..

Damn it I had it on video on fraps (But I screenshoted it too) , but I didnt know the trial could only handle 30 seconds , so the part with the hacker was gone...

Anyways, your point is just identical as mine. I would of posted a thread talking about this, but I usually keep my opinions to my own.
To the people on the hub saying: "Hacker in US5, please come!", I say "You don't need a moderator to deal with that... You can always record him yourself . Which is true. Some people forget about they can also record themselves. If they keep on spamming on the hub there is a hacker in the server, while ignoring me, I usually spare my time and report them myself.

As the way I was raised, I have always done things by myself without anyones help. Probably the main reason why I don't like asking stuff to others. For my DIY 'mania' I have learned to do so many things; Minecraft related or life related.

why not poke a mod on TS?

What people do not realise that it is much easier to just record them yourself. You are already in the game, right there, just upload it and it can be dealt with usually in a few minutes. If the player is still in your game after that, just poke them the Youtube vid and server, and they can be kicked from the game if the evidence is good enough.

The alternative is having to ask a member of staff on TS or on the Hub. While we are happy to do so, the whole process takes a lot longer- the mod needs to join, then record themselves, upload the evidence, then ban the player. All in all, it's exactly the same as you recording them- it just takes longer, and by then everyone else in the server has probably been killed by them too. Obviously if you can't record yourself, this is fine. But most people just pop into the hub and want us to quickly ban the player-which we can't do.
