What is special about the new Catching Fire map?

Big maps are boring, all you do is look around the whole map for people. Small maps have more PvP.
For Survival Games, I personally think there should be a push for bigger maps, since its supposed to have a big "survival element", personally I do like focusing heavily on the pvp element, but small maps become killboxes and basically just luck of what you get early on. There are plenty of other pvp games for people who solely want fast paced pvp.

I dunno, MCSGv2 is way more PvP based unlike v1 which was more survival based. Bigger maps don't do so wel now, I doubt this will be true for this map though, with all the hype for it. Also, when I say small I mean, SG4 sized maps and big maps are like SG1-3 and 5.

yeah I know it is more pvp focused which I like, but I only really like maps sg4 sized or bigger, any smaller than sg4 is way too small, I find the bigger maps more fun as its more about exploring the map and finding stuff, and the battles are more tense when you see someone from a long distance

We didn't do 30'000 trees there are 669 custom trees, which I personally worked a lot on, yes it is more than is noticeable but it is the small details of a map which can make it shine over others, the only reason not to do all custom trees is laziness but we weren't lazy and did them all.

Ninga to what you said about hearing from staff that Red Forest did more, a) I wouldn't really listen to rumours because most of the time they aren't true and b) both teams spent a lot of time on different aspects of the map, for instance Red Forest did the base cornucopia and the majority of the trees, while TE did the terraforming and detailing on the corn plus the awesome airship by ladyoflove which she put a lot of effort into, it may have taken us longer to do all the custom trees but TE still did a huge chunk of the map
Well on Dave's twitter it said 30,000 hand built trees with no copy and paste...

30,000 was probably an exaggeration - I'm not even sure how that many trees of that size would fit on the map! :p

This is going to be so good, since Team Elite are amazing builders, and Red Forest make the best gameplay... Can't wait! Time machine stemr0ll pls gg!

im just going to add here i organized this build as a mcgamer admin not team elite leader plus if you have 2 teams working on something you do not have one more in charge adding to that the reason why team elite and red forest worked together on it is they can do game play and organics we can do terraforming and large ornate structures the 2 teams fit well together oh and can everyone please stop all the hate towards team elite you try having some of the dead lines we have then comment thank you.

Impress me or else, dears. Your clock system needs to be better than the one on the Hive or a Team Elite member may wake up missing the tip of their right ear from when I nibbled it off in their sleep. :)
