What he said! What ninetailefox said, as well as:
If you don't like the current maps, how about having no maps except the big ones? Not so fun anymore, eh?
A lot of people nowadays are failing to see the positives in MCSG. The Devs are working super hard, the vast majority of Staff are good, MapMakers are working long hours (Some of them) to create maps, and a lot of people are having fun! You gotta admit it, every time you get really focused on a game or a fight, you have fun.
And yet there are people here who are nit-picking on the so-called "Corruption" of Sr. Staff, which is a small portion of Sr. Staff, if any, the tiny maps being too easy to win on, and MCSG Dying? Not really, no.
Anyways, back on topic... MCSG is not dying. Chad and his fellow MCSG leaders have thought deeply on whether or not to add more servers. They decided to, but they wouldn't have been able to if there had been insufficient donations.
Lets think: The most popular donation is Iron. (Although I've seen more donors with the Diamond one now thats its lifetime)
Iron is $10 for 1 month.
A 24 slot server is generally, on most servers, 2 GBs of RAM.
CubedHost, owned by subv3rsion (I think), charges $32 for a 2 GB server. That means 3 Iron donations
(Of course, you have to remember that there's also Gold and Diamond donors) per month.
And how many donors do you see in your average match? A lot. Sometimes there's games in the servers that are half full of donors!
200 Servers x $32 = $6,400
Assuming that there's 3 iron donors and 1 gold donor per game (Many games have less or more.) that'd come to...
38 dollars per month? Something like that. Iron donor is $10 for 1 month, gold is $25 for 3 months, meaning something around $8 for 1 month if you buy gold. (http://shop.mcgamer.net/category/60436)
200 Servers x $38 = 7,600
Don't argue with my logic >:C Just think on it, and remember that there are games with tons of donors as well as games with no donors.
