I voiced my opinions of this map on my most recent video. In short, I agree that it should see the dump.
As stated before in this thread, the chases last quite a bit longer then they really should (even longer than water battles.) Because Minecraft isn't on par with what it was back in 1.2.5 where you would get hits on a person if you were actually swinging on them, I find that quite a few of my hits that should be hitting while I'm on the ice simply aren't. This results in extremely long battles, and I know I'm not the only one who is suffering from this problem. I was able to pull of a 9 - 10 minute long chase in my first Freeze Island video. The guy wasn't able to hit me at all, and his arrow shots weren't hitting either mostly because it's tricky to time arrows with the boosted ice speed.
Anyways, the servers seem to try to cut down match lengths (added 3 player deathmatches, got rid of most of the large maps, etc), so I'm surprised this map was added even after testing.
Also, in no way am I bashing the design. The designer didn't do a bad job with what was asked, as I do know an icey Breeze Island was suggested a couple of times before this map was created.
