If you don't like the map, just left if it's voted, that's the most helpful for you.
People need to post their opinions on the forums in order to keep all the maps fun for everyone. Ignoring Freeze island isn't the way to go.

The problem (in my opinion) is that the amount of "bad looking"/ "non- quality" maps on our servers is getting higher, with this I mean that 7/10 maps on the servers are not looking up to the standards with what the standards were eight months ago. Eight months ago, community maps were just released, such as Breeze Island and Overgrown. Both those maps looked 'fantastic' in my opinion, they had ALOT of effort put into them, and they were both original maps with high quality gameplay. The chances of your map getting a place on the MCSG servers were very low, as they were only accepting good looking maps with an exciting gameplay. Most people don't give a sheet about the look of the maps they play on, but for example people who are interested in playing on servers like people who watch SG videos on YouTube care alot.

For example, people that are looking for PvP servers can just "google it", and find some random "24/7 PvP server". But people who are looking for good PvP servers can't just "google it". They have to watch YouTube videos of people playing on the servers. I decided to try out these servers because I thought the city map (SG2) was looking AMAZING when I watched Yogscast's "Hunger Games event"- video. All other servers had big flat so called "arenas", with some trees and chests scattered around a Vanilla generated world. But MCSG was something special, the MCSG servers had arenas/ maps that were looking really good, which made me want to try them out.

What I am saying is, good looking maps should always be prioritized first, not the ones that are "having lots o' parkour challenges and other fun stuff". A good looking map with a professional creator like static_nightmare will make people think "wow, that server is looking really cool, I will try it out!". static_nightmare is used to know what people want to see in a PvP/ Hunger Games map, he knows what people want to see AND play on. The best thing with having a professional build team like "Team Vareide"/ Team Teweran / Team Elite is that your server will get
  • quality maps- good looking maps with a fun gameplay on all of them.
  • more players, as having a build team to make maps for your server will give your server attention in the build team's livestreams/ YouTube videos/ Twitter/Facebook posts.
  • and lots of other good stuff.
Good maps are made by good creators/ teams, good creators/ teams are born by playing on your server for a long time, getting used to the gameplay and knowing what people want to see/ play on. Hosting the "Survival Games Arena Map Making Contest" together with Planet Minecraft (PMC) is a GREAT thing to do, as it gives you much attention= new players from PMC and good looking maps made by skilled builders from Planet Minecraft, not saying MCSG lacks good builders but PMC just has ALOT of them.
MCSG needs more "high quality" maps, maps that are looking good AND have an exciting gameplay. By making maps for MCSG, you help the community more than you may think. New players and more map makers is the future of MCSG.

I agree that the map should be taken out of the game, or at least have less ice. The battles go on for waaaay too long and it's just a pain for players, also Demons Breeze lags a lot of the people with bad computers to the point it is unplayable.

It's very hard to explain my thoughts, I don't even know if people will understand what I am trying to say by reading my post.

Alright so it seems the general consensus is the annoying ice chases. I am working on a fix to get rid of all the ice fields, with maybe a small ice field somewhere and replacing it with something else.
Yay! Thank you :D

I'm a flint and steel maniac and most of the map is ice and piled up snow so I can't really flint and steel in many parts of the map. If I were to get chased by a team or so, I would run to that specific spot where I can flint and steel (near igloo village and little boat). Quick tip: if you block hit while someone is coming after you on ice you have a higher percent of actually hitting the person.
