I get it, Its PVP with a hunger games feel to it, But I sort of get tired of RUNNING ROUTES because its just so.. Unrealistic. I play because I like the Hunger games feel to it, I really like the PVP aspect and all but I feel like with the constant abuse of Survival games 4 and Breeze Island I know the maps by heart and its insanely easy to win by knowing where all the chests are.. Call it strategy, I call it bull **** Use the hunger games map generator, I use it for my server and I just love the results..

#Rant 2

MAKE. BIGGER. MAPS.

I can see the forcefeild from my pedestal, The maps are EXTREMLY small, With the exception of SG1 which is my favorite map, Its just amazing..

So.. Please.. Listen, Dont hate me because I play not because of the PVP, I play it for what it is...

Random map generating is a horrible idea, it's come up before and it's a definate no. It's just so boring... no theme at all.

Most maps you can't see the border excluding map 1, Survival Games 3, Survival Games 4, Overgrown, etc Only maps such as Survival Games 2 and Breeze Island are really small. If the maps are too big then the games would take forever to end, yeah it's more like the original Hunger Games novel/movie, except people don't have the time to play for multiple hours.

1. The game type is based on strategy you need to use routes whether you make new routes or use the same one, you fight different people in different gear in different situations, that doesn't seem to be the exact same thing every game.

2. Breeze and SG4 are voted because people WANT to play the maps, that's why they are voted the plugin doesn't just take your vote and put it towards those maps without you knowing.

3. Maps are getting smaller because people prefer a faster game, no one wants to be running around the map for 60 minutes finding that one guy shifting at the edge of the map, makes it no fun for the hunter or for the spectators, the faster the game, the more game you have with more variety.

The only thing I agree with you on is Breeze and SG4. They are very overplayed. But there's nothing we can do about that unless you can persuade every person in the lobby to vote for a different map (believe me I've tried). Or if you want it just to be random with no voting at all, which I don't think you want.#
As for the other things I agree with both James and Shawn.

I do understand what you mean about the hunger games feeling. I myself really want a game which is heavily based of the books and is almost exactly like it. But I know that would get boring for most people so I have got used to knowing that there never will be a proper Hunger games, game.

Naturally, I expect you'll be expecting the "hate" on your post from the "fanboys".

However, in order to shift this expected opinion:

I'll tell you now, that random map generation, while possibly creating "better gameplay", would also make the maps feel dull and not fun to play on. Especially when coupled with the fact that you want larger maps for longer games - when there is nothing to look at and the games are long, it gets boring very quickly once you are on your 10th game or so. In fact, the maps are only so small because the ones you have played on mostly, since they are the most voted maps, are the smallest. We didn't make the maps small as our own decision - the community as a whole made this decision. After all, we are looking to please the overall audience, not just a few of them...

As for the routes - this is an intended part of the strategy of the game. Making a chest route is a part of it. Without this, games would be even more focused on luck than they are now - there should be a fair deal of skill involved, we don't want a complete luck game here.

These are the Survival Games, not a direct copy of the Hunger Games. Things will be different than what you were expecting. Maybe you were looking for that "Hunger Games" feel when playing, but sadly, you'd be surprised at how many most people aren't looking for that exact feel. Some modifications made the community enjoy it much more, so naturally it was kept that way. If the community wants smaller maps, they will get smaller maps. And if the servers need to always put the chests in the same place, they will.
However, there is one thing I have to "agree" with, at least partly - SG4 and Breeze Island are very overplayed maps right now. It's a known issue.

To elaborate a bit more on this - When people first come to play here, maybe they are looking for that "Hunger Games" feel. I sure was looking for that when I joined. Watching my back...nothing there? Must have been my imagination. Watching my food, making sure I don't waste it, and hoping for that little bit of food in a chest to keep me going...but honestly, it got tiring. It was the same thing, every time, and it was mostly SG1 being played. Not very many structures on that map, honestly, it gets boring after only a few games, even if I always go a different direction...due to spending a ton of my time on another server, I almost actually left. I kept coming back often enough until something came up - community maps, more and more of them popped up giving me tons of places to explore, and smaller maps for more action - no longer was a game predictable and long, it was short, action packed, and tons to explore. Even still, on maps like SG4, ones that I've played a million times and that are small, I'm still finding new things and noticing little details that SG1 or any randomly generated map lacked...it's a small, yet detailed, action packed map. Maybe it doesn't quiet fit the Hunger Games theme completely...but why does it need to? It's fun, and keeps me coming back more than SG1 ever did, and it does the same for many, many others, all without completely going away from that "Hunger Games" style.

I could just be a complete derp in this post, though. It's 3 AM and I really should be sleeping right now. So tired. >.>

Edit: For the record, if it's so "insanely easy" to win, then let me know when you are in the top 100 with the better win/lose ratio than me and more than 10000 points average. (My average is 10000 when I don't bounty them away.) lol.

I really didn't read what geeke said, but it's so long that I can't imagine anything else possibly needs to be said, so this thread should probably be locked now.

Holy mother of god

Nobody would enjoy randomized maps.....
And I like developing chest routes, it fun. G33ke pretty much explained it too.

Why wont you just log onto a 24/7 PvP server and donate to get a stone sword and have randomized vanilla maps?

I hate big maps and most other people do to. I could win 2 games in The time it takes to get to md on sg1, then die.

Smaller maps are becoming much more popular anyways, because they offer more action and tend to have lots of chests, ensuring everyone at least a chance, seeing as most people will have some sort of weapon.
