We realize that clans are very large in MCG, however in the past, every encounter staff has had with the clan world has ended in miserable failure, and hurting on both sides. Thus, we tend to take a hands off approach when attempting to deal with things.
Thing is, we are a gaming network; MCGamer. We've evolved beyond "just mcsg" and were constantly expanding our services. MCSG took a very long while to build up to its current stance, and in the same logic, we want our other game types to be just as popular. If they are unpopular, we try to improve to provide a happy playing experience.
Yes clans are very popular on the forums, we also have somewhere of 2.5 million people who play our servers, and we attempt to provide the best play experience possible, while maintaining reasonability. Yes, antster tried to get something off the ground which failed and ended in hurt and pain because it was another experience of both sides ending in headache.
As of this moment In time, the community as far as the future of such is looking very positive in the way our predictions look, with many things coming to the community world and improving the status of play. There are things coming soon to the clan world that are of monumental proportions that we haven't done in a very long time; however this cannot be discussed at this moment in time due to the way legality, and safety of originality works. Things will be looking very bright to come. We do recognize that the clan system is very popular and has a solid drive in the MCSG servers, and we do aim to do our best to help that while not attempting to "govern" the clans. HarborSeal, I know you, we used to be friends, trust me on this when I say things are looking up. We wish to get everything perfected before releasing any details, as such is the understanding in a business sense. Im disappointed in you for reacting in this manner, as it would be 15x easier to convey this sort of information via teamspeak, or a private message, and I know you to be very reasonable, and if you have any questions/comments/concerns I'm accessible on any form of communication we support.
However, on the note of Skype, do realize that we attempted once to operate on Skype which ended miserably failing due to security loopholes in Skype and various uncompromising issues. Its in this way that we've moved away from Skype and pursue other means. This is inherently a good idea, but not something feesable for the MCGamer staff to run. Thus, why we aren't supporting it, however, I won't say someone responsible can't run it.
