Yes, taking all the skill out of a gamemode does make it extremely enjoyable.

Lots of people who play do not know or mastered the art of using the fishing pole to kill your opponent when comboing with a sword.

Oh yes, requiring basic skill in a game is very bad. There should be no skill required whatsoever.

Take them out and everyone will be on a fair playing ground with only swords/axes/bows.

That's like removing the AWP from CS:GO, because some people don't know how to be good with it. Just because people can't be JW, GuardiaN or KennyS doesn't mean they should remove it.

It's the same with the fishing rod. Good players will find ways to exploit a certain item/weapon. You can nerf the weapon, but you can't nerf the player.
