TEAMS, TARGETTING & ABUSE
Well, hopefully I'm posting this in the right section. I don't really know where to start but I'll give it my best shot.
Recently the teams have really grown to an insane level. I am not at all suggesting that we make teams bannable or even make a "Solo" Survival Games gamemode. As stated in many threads in the past, teams are a massive part of the success of MCGamer and other SG servers. Eradicating teams would discourage many players to continue playing and I do not at all believe that is the path MCGamer should go down. I just feel something really has to happen. I've thought and thought and thought some more and I can not think of anything logical that MCGamer could do to make teams less of an issue on MCGamer. I am not talking about the teams of 2 - 3 but more so the teams of 5 and above. Lately I've been seeing a lot of these around. Nearly 1 every second game. They all just say "We team coz we hav frenz". I mean really, I have many friends that are online playing in my game on a regular basis (I have nearly 300 skype contacts so...) and I do not feel the intense need to team with them. The really frustrating thing is that when I end up killing one or 2 members of the 5 team and then get killed, they just trashtalk until the cows come home. Then I become an enemy of theirs and then they decide it would be a great fun idea to chase me off of spawn for a long time many games in a row. I don't know what MCGamer could do about it but I feel something drastic really has to happen.
Another thing that has been bothering me is the issue of targetting. It is nowhere stated what is considered targetting and I feel this has to change. No where in any of the rules books/forum threads does it state exactly what is considered targetting. I understand that chasing someone on more than one occasion is what is considered targetting but it never says how long they have to have been chasing you for it to be considered targetting. I think MCGamer needs to have some more defined rules on what is considered targetting.
Finally, abuse. Although the trashtalk filter was recently implemented, abuse has still been possible. I am not saying create an unstoppable filter that doesn't allow you to say anything like "Bad" or "Go get a life" or
"Sad tryhard no lifer". I just feel it should be punished more consistently. I do not think that bans should be issued if someone abuses but after repeat offences a permanent mute would help fix the issue. The reason I believe this is that if that person is muted, the issue is fixed. They can no longer trashtalk/abuse as their rights to speak have been taken away from them. Banning someone permanently for abusing is simply to punish them/prove a point. I am aware that extreme abuse should be punished harshly but people can get very agitated and say things that they truthfully regret. Giving them a chance to continue playing on MCGamer as they made a mistake but removing their permissions to speak not only fixes the problem and punishes them, it also gives them a chance to continue playing after they said something they did not at all mean and simply said as they were in an agitated state. I am glad to see that hackers are will now be permanently banned on first offence though don't get me wrong. Hacking should be punished as it is currently (in my opinion) so no issues there.
Please reply with what you think should happen and all of your opinions!
Sorry that the wording on this could have been a lot more professional and possibly have made more
sense, I'm really tired when writing this so don't expect me to be perfect.
If you're still reading, have a lovely day!
