Ok, about trying to guide people in a specific direction, that's impossible in Minecraft. You should realize that without literally taking control of the player, it will be impossible to attempt to guide them in a direction because they could end up killing themselves before they go the way you want them to.

This is realistic if it were the books because;

Hunger Games Real:
You and your teammate were not careers. You then suddenly outsmarted the careers with nothing really and managed to take control of the cornucopia. If you could take on people with such amazing stuff and not get killed, then you are a danger to the capital so the easiest way would be to get rid of you. The reason why so many careers won the hunger games, along with the fact that they were trained before, is that the gamemakers sided with them as they knew the careers liked the games and wouldn't want to rebel against the capital to stop them.

In Game:
Basically they just wanted to split your team up. You guys should've split up then they probably would've stopped (you could've regrouped after anyways...). Plus the hell games aren't meant to be fair, and neither are the hunger games

in my opinion the gamemakers should not be removed or nurffed they should just be more carful.

That's a whole lot easier said then done :/ So far there have been... 7? Hell Games, and careful Gamemakers didn't seem to be present in any of them (from what I have heard.) Maybe you should try a Hell Games without any gamemakers, just to see how it does play out, and then if you still want to have gamemakers you can try the "more careful" plan.
