Guys, just to let you know there will be no difference in between 8gb or 500gb of ram because minecraft, for what I have seen, only uses 2-3 GB as a max and 487 MB as a min. Ram speed may effect fames but by only a couple.
you can get a core I3 that beats a core I7. The difference is the core I3 has 2 cores a core i5 has 4 and a I7 has 4-6 cores. all of these have hyperthreading thus windows or linux will see them as twice the actual amount.
In minecrat a high end core i3 will have the same speed as a low end to mid core i7 because minecraft will only take 1 core 2 if you include hyperthreading. to fix this just use optifine.
also if you just play minecraft anything above a GeForce GTX 460 or a Redeon 4350 is overkill unless you use glsl shaders.
so a titan with minecraft is like going dear hunting with a tank!
i have 8gb of ram
a core I7 equivalent to a mid range core i3 because i have a laptop
finally a redeon hd 4350
i get 90fps everything maxed out which is more than enough
