Wrote this somewhere else on the fourms, but it can also find a place in this thread as it is related to an acceptable extent.

"See, I was confused on what gcb did. I thought he reached 15k on his own. Little did I know, he had his friends that got him those points.

Most people, if they do it right, can get easily up to 50,000 bounty before bounties were enabled again.

If I assembled a group of myself as well as 3-4 people I know, I would win nearly every game.
But...that takes a huge portion of the fun out of this game. I would not get any real satisfaction from it due to the fact that I needed the help of others. I mean, what, I am going to boast about it on teamspeak or on the fourms? xD"
First of all Sorry if I seemed like a bragger with saying "I was really proud on getting 15k"

Though this sounds a bit curious now its not as easy as you probs think.
First your not able to speak to your mate because they cant skype while playing mc and their mic broke.
If then a 3 man team decides to fist you from spawn (which wasnt rarely the case) your pretty much scr*wed.
Also note: Guys will stick at you until you cant run anymore... One time they chased me 7 mins through the sea at TSG II ( I swim like 3 rounds)
Hackers still are Hackers and i once crashed --> Losing 1.3k And you dont believe how demotivating this is.
It took me 8 Games to get the score back.
And the most interesting thing i've seen was that two Guys who didnt team chased me ages and didnt attack each other. Even if someone of them was eating something the other one just to get my points.

You also cant rate skill by w/l because players like me are often getting internet crashs which results in a free lose sometimes it even saves this game twice (2 losses at one game)
Often Ive gotta help my sis ir help my brother - And i dont scream "No mom I cant" I just help and 90% this is my dead.
There is no perfect way of finding out the Skill of someone. Maybe there are better ones and worse ones but there is no perfct one imo.

And this, my friends, is why I can't win any more than 50% of my games, even if I win every single one. >.>

*I time out every, roughly, 5 games. (This isn't my internet. I only time out of the server. I'm always able to immediately join back as well, but everyone else wasn't effected.)
*I have to do staff duties when poked on TS. (Which I'm always on when playing.)
*My internet is the most unstable thing ever, and every hour or so it freaks out on me and nearly disconnects me from everything. (My connection to the internet completely goes out for about a half an hour every day, randomly.)
*I'm always busy with unexpected IRL things. (I'll be playing a game, and randomly, "Hey, can you come help me with this?" Or "Can you do this?" This is partly why I mostly play much later in the day: That's the only time of day that's at all predictable for me.)
*Anytime a server bug occurs that shuts the server down preemptively, or lags the game to an insane extent, etc.
*Testing games on a server where the goal isn't to win, but to test stuff for bugs, etc. (I rarely "win" these games, and they do count on the leaderboards. I've had my fair share of them.)
*The insane amount of lag that I get to CA servers, which I still don't understand why I get it. (This is a big deal because a few people I enjoy playing with have the same problem with the US.)
*Any other reason I can't remember right now.

The sheer amount of games I've lost due to this kind of stuff is insane. Especially as a staff member, with certain duties to attend to, it's simply impossible for me to get a good win/loss or a really impressive point amount. This is not even factoring in the fact that, with how little I've been playing as of recently, I'm extremely out of practice and would need a good warming up before I'd even do well. >.>

But let's be honest here...nearly everyone has issues like this. Whatever their reasons might be, almost everyone has to deal with it. Sadly, this is why win/loss is only so good of a way to determine skill...but to be honest, because of this reason alone, there isn't a good way, aside from actually watching the player play yourself. But even this...is a matter of opinion.

To be honest, though, win/loss and points kind of go hand in hand, aside from the fact that win/loss counts losses from when you first started. (But nearly everyone had that problem, keep that in mind. The ones who had it worse are slower learners, or used to be more casual, or have internet/lag issues, etc... It still does show on them a bit.) The more you lose, the more points you lose, and unless you had a good number of games where you got a ton of points from players, it's the same for wins. It's slightly more variable, but still pretty much the same thing.

I'm personally not a fan of the addition of bounty. It's a fun thing, yes, but it's way too easily abused. At least before it, even if points weren't the most accurate thing ever, they were still at least a good way to figure "Hey, I should watch out for this player, he might be good".

I actually read the whole text ^^

Ive gotta agree that the best way to rate a Player is to look at him closely, imo even 1v1 dont show the true skills because there are so many more skills like tactical Skills or Jumping skills or predicting Skills and you just see them at another Player if you played really long with him. Its easy to spot whether a Player is good or bad but to see how good he is you have to spend really much time on spectating him / playing with him

At one small thing I've gotta disagree "losses from when you first started" a few Guys like Hanfi12 didnt had this lets call it "Noobtime"problem because he used another account first and as he had like 50 wins he created "Hanfi12" which is a reason why his w/l is pretty decent ^^

It's funny that we like anything that feels closer to v1... #V1ForOneDay
Though (im not sure but I think it was) The_Arena_Master made a petition to bring them back it would be useless... It wouldnt feel like the old days... All we have is our mind to think of our good old MCSG times... 0% chance we'll get the feeling back :/

Thus why I said "nearly everyone". :p I know there are a few people who will do that.

Two days ago you looked like a pro with 5k Points... You didnt see anyone with more than 5k. Maybe 1 in 8 Lobbies... Then Elgoldo broke the 10k which was unbelieveable... He got the achievement... He had really hard work but he did it.
Orienting to Elgoldo me and _zeX99_ decided to get 15k which was a really hard mission ... Losing 670 and 1300 points at a Disconnect can be very demotivating (happened to me once)
But _zeX99_ and me did it... I got the achievement, I was really proud at it and later on I replaced it with 13370 Bounty in my Signature...
One day later I realized our whole work was for nothing.
Why? They implemented Bounty again. In my first game at the next day I saw someone with 19k.
And later on I saw a thread where someone was bragging that he broke the World record. *coughing really hard*

But lets get back to the red line:
Since Bountying is added again Points are Completly useless. The achievement which seemed to be unreachable (Reach 10k Bounty) is easily possible in 1 day (I saw 3 Guys who already had it yesterday)

Bountying was removed when v2 came out because some Guys like hb01 abused it and got 150k because all of his friends always bountied for him and let him win. (That was before the Bounty bug)
So why did they add it again? Its easy to get high Bounty now :(

Tl;Dr I dont like the fact you added Bountying again Forairan :(

Makes a lot of sense...
